ABOUT NICOLE

I am a painter who creates colorful abstract floralscapes and impressionistic landscape paintings. I love to experiment with multiple textures in each piece. I commonly use paper, different texture mediums, linen, burlap, and various other found materials. I often will use my old archival black and white prints from my days as a photographer.
I graduated from KSU with a B.F.A. and a concentration in photography/printmaking in 2007. I pursued a career in portrait photography and enjoyed doing that for many years. While my background is in photography, I have dabbled in all art forms ranging from sculpture to painting. I have always had a passion for drawing and painting and its something I keep returning to throughout my life.

Much of my inspiration is drawn from my hikes, places I long to explore and fond memories. The landscapes I paint are that are familiar yet indistinct so that others may determine the location. I hope to recreate that sense of tranquility and beauty that I find in nature.

I live in Marietta, GA with my husband and 2 children. My work can be seen through out local festivals.
